Anti-Bulling Week

At Ridgefield we have been discussing friendships and the recipe for a good friend. Years 6 & 5 took part in our annual Anti-Bullying Conference. We feel confident that our children have a very good understanding of what bullying is and the power dynamics involved, so this year we focussed on how to manage bullying behaviour and indeed, any behaviour which makes you feel hurt or humiliated. We did some workshops on respecting ourselves and others and how to let people know that their actions or words are being hurtful without being aggressive or too passive.

Years 3 and 4 worked with Mrs Kim Green, our advisor from the Cambridgeshire, race, equality and diversity service, who did two workshops on bullying around the theme of a rock musical!
At Ridgefield we understand that bullying isn’t just confined to schools and seek to educate every child in the knowledge about the effects of bullying.
