This term KS1’s topic is SPACE. We jump started our term with a fun packet SPACE week, filled with astronaut training and our very own trip to outer space.

Ridgefield Primary was in the Cambridge Evening news again for raising money for the Rosie hospital fundraising appeal.
Thanks to the support of the Friends, parents and staff, a new outdoor play area for KS1 is taking shape. Pop into school to take a look.
Some Ridgefield pupils were spotted in the Cambridge evening news today. They were lending a helping hand in the community, so if you see them, ask them what they were up to!
Year 5 visited King’s College and Chapel on Wednesday as part of We are Ridgefield Week. It was the perfect timing, as the class will be studying King Henry VIII this term in history. It was a wet and rainy day, but the children put on a brave face and enjoyed their visit.
Year 2G were lucky enough to get a visit from a real Egyptologist, Samuel Burns. Not only did they get all their burning questions answered, they got a chance to learn how to write real hieroglyphics!
Today, all the children in the school got the chance to be real explorers and thinkers as they took part in a carousel of challenge stations.
At each station the children had to solve a problem and work together as a team.
Some of the highlights were, pitching a tent, moving through an obstacle course blindfolded, crossing a raging lava river on tyres or solving a secret code using their orienteering skills.
We were lucky to have Adrian hall in school, who is a real explorer.
We think everyone had a great day and perhaps they now believe that they can overcome any obstacle if they put their mind to it!
