Houses

Our Houses and what they mean.

Each of the children have been placed into a house Earth, Fire, Air and Water. Below are the coat of arms designed by Mrs Collison to represent house. Over each week they can earn points for their house. These are counted on a Thursday afternoon and the house with the most points is announced in Friday mornings celebration assembly, and presented with a trophy.  When a child recieves 10 house points, they will have a merit certificate awarded to them in the same assembly, which can then be taken home and shared with family! If a child receives 5 merit certificates over the year they get a Bronze award, 10 certificates is Silver award, 20 recieves Gold award, and finally if they receive 30 merit certificates over the year they will get a Diamond award.

The aim of this new system is to encourage the children to work together to help support them strive to be the best they can be, and work in a team to get house points. The children will sometimes do activities in their houses, such as art of PSHE, which involves children from Nursery to Year 6,  promoting the children to work together with their peers, but also children older / younger than them and create an inclusive environment, which will hopefully then extend to playtimes, lunchtimes, and assemblies.

House points can be awarded different things such as good work, sharing, kindess, trying hard at activies and joining in, playing with other children, listening, and encouraging each other to do their best.

To help us achieve the aims of the school, the children and staff have agreed a set of rules. These form our ‘Code of Conduct’ and every child is expected to follow this at all times.  These are;

Be Proud

Be Respectful

Be Responsible
