We will be celebrating the Royal Wedding of HRH Prince William and Miss Kate Middleton on April 28th 2011, the day before the ceremony. We are quite sure all the children will be very excited as we walked past Westminster Abbey on our Take One Picture tour to London. Ridgefield will be closed on April 29th, the actual day of the wedding.
Plans are afoot the celebrate the Royal Wedding in style. Most classes will be using the opportunity to explain themes in RE about relationships, love and commitment. We will be exploring weddings in different cultures.
Each child will be making a special flag for our bunting and Mrs Day will be cooking a special meal which they can choose for their school dinner which we will eat outside on the playground together. Mrs Cooper will teach all the children the National Anthem and we may have a few more songs over the afternoon. It is sure to be a lovely and memorable day, topped off with a little gift for each child to commemorate the occasion…but that’s a surprise!
